Q
Define ‘independent variable’.
A
The variable that the scientist changes and then observes the effect.
An experiment should only have 1 independent variable otherwise you can’t be sure which independent variable change caused the effect.
1
Q
Define ‘control variable’.
A
The control variable remains the same to keep the experiment fair.
An experiment can have more than 1 controlled variable.
2
Q
Define ‘dependent variable’.
A
The dependent variable is where change will be observed by the scientist. The scientist changes the independent variable to see if it causes any change in the dependent variable.
