Schubert trained as a school teacher in the 3 years from 1813 to 1816 and abandoned it for composition, staying with his friend Franz von Schober and composing day to night. But he was poor and in 1817, Schubert met Johann Michael Vogl who preformed Schubert’s works and made him more financially secure. He also started Schubertiades to display his latest works to friends, family and admirers

He died in 1828 in Vienna, Austria and requested to be buried alongside Beethoven
