What was Debussy’s first musical trainings?
Even though his family was not musical (his father owned a china shop and his mother was a seamstress) he started piano lessons at the age of 7 and entered the Paris conservatoire at the age of 10. After winning the Prix de Rome in 1884, he had already began using unconventional musical styles in his works, and did not like Rome. As a result, his works that he composed there were not very successful
What was the significance of the paris world exposition on Debussy?
It exposed him to international music styles, such as the Javanese gamelan music

He married his first wife, Rosalie Texier in 1899 but due to a lack of musical understanding, he divorced her and married a second wife, Emma Bardac in 1904 but lost many friends because of this
