o Approximately 50:50 gender distribution
• Better prognosis in women – worst in men

o Age of onset around 18-30 years
• Occurs earlier in men
• Lifelong condition

- Reality distortion (psychotic symptoms)
- Disorganisation
- Disorganised thoughts and behaviour
- Negative symptoms
