Affect (flattened or blunted)
Alogia (struggle with speech)
Ambivalence/avolition/apathy : lack of interest or unable to start or get things done
Anhedonia or amotivation (lack of pleasure or motivation to do things)
Asociality: withdrawn
What is the DSM criteria for diagnosing schizophrenia?
Need two or more of the symptoms (lasting one month) over a 6 month period
Criteria for brief psychotic disorder
At least one of the Psychotic symptoms: hallucinations, delusions, disorganized speech, grossly disorganized or catatonic behavior
lasting less than a month
What is the criteria for schizophreniform disorder
Two of more symptoms lasting one to 6 months
Symptoms present for one month
What’s the criteria for delusional disorder?
Presence of one or more delusions for a month or longer
What is the criteria for schizoaffective disorder
HATS
Half or more of time must be with mood symptoms only
Alone: psychotic symptoms only for 2 weeks or more
Together: for some time
Substances: none
Body is stuck in a certain position
Waxy flexibility
A marked psychomotor disturbance that may involve decreased motor activity, decreased engagement during interview or examination, or excessive and peculiar motor activity
Catatonia
