A

Stay hydrated
continue to eat, esp carbs - if vomiting, take sugary liquids
Never stop insulin - may need to adjust dose however
Check BM more frequently

Stop - metformin (lac acid), gliclazide (hypo), GLP1/ Semaglutide, SGLT2i/ Empag (ketoacidosis)

A

Screening for:
- infectious disease - HIV, hep B, syphilis
- sickle cell, thalassaemia
-20 week anomaly scan - examines baby - detailed US to assess baby’s health, growth, development.

Downs screening - 11 week (dating scan) Combined test - USS (nuchal translucency) and Bloods

Hypertension in pregnancy M

A

Refer to Obs if known diabetes and pregnant. if new gestational diabetes can Mx in primary care

Lifestyle - diet, exercise, reduce salt intake
Meds- if on ACEi/ ARB - stop + switch to alternative eg labetalol, nifedipine
Explain that hypertension in preg has risks to baby and to patient
Check urine (proteins) and bloods (LFTs, UE, FBC)
FU weekly
