Sand casting process

1. Drag is placed upside down on a clean board
2. The pattern is placed on the board and the drag is filled with fine sand
3. This is compacted and more is added - excess sand is strickled off
4. The drag is inverted and the cope is placed on top
5. Spruce pins are added and the cope is filled with sand (runner and riser)
6. The moulding boxes are separated and gates are cut to connect lower half of the mould to runner and riser
7. Vent holes are added to allow gases to escape and boxes are reassembled
