Die casting process
A
- Permanent moulds (dies) are made in sections to facilitate the components’ removal
- Using the ladle, molten metlas is poured into shot chamber
- The ram pushes the molten metal into the cavity
- Once solidified, the moveable die half is removed

- High dimensional accuracy
- Fast production
- Simplified assembly
- Good surface finish

A
- Limited size of castings
- High inital cost
- Large production needed to be cost effective
- Limited to high fluidity metals
