A
  • a crew whose ranking was affected by the decision of the board of the jury.
  • a crew whose protest against the published results was rejected by the board of the jury.

The decision of the board of the jury can not be appealed.

How is an appeal raised?

A

International: with Exec Director within 3 days of the decision which is being appealed.

Champs/OlysOQRs/Cups: WR office within 1 hour of the publication of the results following the decision of the jury.

200 EUR\
Writing: crew bringing the appeal - decision being appealed - grounds for appeal.

ExCo can Reject or take any means necessary to provide relief.

How is a protest raised?

A

To the Board of the Jury within 1 hour of the conclusion of the race/publication of results, with 100EUR.

  • a crew whose objection was rejected.
  • a crew whose raking has been adversely affected by the acceptance of an objection.
  • a crew who was given DNS, DNF, EXC, DSQ.
  • a crew that disputes the published results.

Decision before next round of racing and no later than 2 hours after the last race of the day.

A

Reprimand
Yellow Card
Relegated (REL) e.g. BUW

After receiving a protest, what can a board of the jury do?

A

Reject the protest.
Uphold the protest and provide such relief as may be necessary. Options:
- reprimand
- exclude crew from event
- relegate to last place
- DSQ
- Order a re-row

At a WRCH/Cup, in the case of a protest regarding an objection in a final what options does the ExCo have regarding victory ceremonies?

A

It can postpone.
If it has taken place and the outcome is a change in result then the official result shall be changed and medals re awarded where necessary.

How does a MF get sanctions for conduct during racing?

A

a. PoJ may provide a report to the Executive Committee on the breach of the Rules and the sanction imposed.
b. The Executive Committee shall,
i. provide a copy of the report to the relevant member federation;
ii. give notice to that member federation that it intends to consider also imposing a sanction on that member federation with that notice to specify:
1) the nature of the breach to be considered;
2) the sanction or range of sanctions that will be considered;
3) if past conduct is to be taken into account, the notice shall specify that accordingly and detail the relevant past conduct; and
4) invite the member federation to provide written submissions on the issue by stated date.

c. The Executive Committee may, after considering the report and any submissions from the member federation, impose such sanction as it considers appropriate to reflect the serious nature of the breach and/or the past conduct of that crew or any member of it or its team official as the circumstances may justify.

What does the written notification of a sanction to the Team Manager need to include?

A

a. The crew on which the sanction has been imposed;
b. The sanction;
c. The nature of the breach;
d. Time and location of the breach;
e. Any other important facts; and
f. The name and function of the Jury member who awarded the sanction.
