Who determines the seeiding criteria?
ExCo and they appoint a Seeding Panel. Where a Seeding Panel is appointed, they will determine who is seeded. Seeding Panel will seed crews using criteria as determined by ExCo. Highest seed paired with lowest seed, and so on. Random draw done (supervised by Jury) to ensure seed 1 is not always in heat 1.
What are the options for the Fairness Committee/POJ
Option 1: use other lanes
Option 2: change the timetable
Option 3: suspend racing and recommend alternative times (no for heats where no preliminary race).
Option 4: prioritise lanes for higher ranked crews (chevron to echelon).

International - min 1 day before start of regatta

Under the general principles of fairness, what are all rowers required to do?
Compete fairly
Be respectful of their opponents and the regatta officials
Comply with the RoRs including being on time

when might an umpire require a race to be re-rowed?
To ensure the fairness of the competition:
- where a race has started but been interrupted by weather conditions or other external influences, and is stopped by the umpire before the race finishes
- where there has been interference and the changes need to be restored
- a dead-heat and where a re-row is required by the rules (if both can’t progress).
When must a re-row take place?
not less than two hours after the original race and on the same day. Can reduce this pending consultation with the POJ. (can do shorter course for international regattas - save time)
What sanctions can a member of the jury impose?
Reprimand
Yellow Card
Relegation (REL)
Red Card or Exclusion (EXC) - for serious and/or repeated
Disqualification (DSQ) - removed from the regatta

if oars,sculls or boat encroach into the opponent’s lane and cause a disadvatnage by contact, wash or other distraction,
What is the requirement to represent a MF at a Cup?
Citizen or bona fide member of a club in that country.
