A
  • a saliva-filled cyst/duct on the floor of the mouth alongside the tongue
  • cause is generally unknown, although some cases are due to sialolith obstruction

A
  • a pseudocyst (cavity is not lined by epithelium) filled w/ saliva
  • it occurs secondarily to leakage of saliva into the surrounding soft tissue & forming a cavity surrounded by reactive connective tissue
