.Rug to keep the horse’s temperature and to prevent chilling through sweating.
.Protective clothing - traveling boots or bandages, poll guard, rugs, tail bandages.
.Knee & hock boots - leg bandages are applied first then boots.

.Have aluminium flooring not wood and have ribbed rubber matting for flooring as is none slip and reg on.
.Ramp - must be non slip so rubber matting.
.Partitions - need padding and go right to the floor.
.Towing vehicle - must weigh at least twice as much as the loaded trailer. Check water and oils of car before journey & tyres for at least 1.6mm depth & correct pressure for both trailer & vehicle also lights.

1) Bring passport & Prepare vehicle
2) Dress horse e.g. boots & offer drink
3) Load & leave
.If only one horse being trailered put in the right side. If two put heaviest one on the right hand.

.Keep windows open always, if cold put rugs on.

.Reduce rations and only feed low carbohydrate, easily digestible food to avoid colic from stress and azoturia.

.Put reg on trailer and working lights connected to car.

.Ensure electrical wires are well maintained and appliances are regularly checked by an electrician.
.Trip switches on the main fuse board are in good working order.

.Clean dust and cobwebs away from all light bulbs and are covered with a wire mesh.
.Always stack new hay quite loosely allowing space for air to circulate or can heat up.
.Store flammable items away from yard.
.Fire extinguishers must be serviced annually and know how to use them. Have different types of fire extinguishers.
