SLP 8.13.6.b
When is an APP considered stable?
An APP is considered stable when ALL of the following are met:
- In the planned LAND CONFIG (gear down and flap achieved)
- Stabilised on correct vertical profile
- Stabilised on target APP speed
SLP 8.13.6.b
By which point must the stable approach criteria be achieved?
SAC must be achieved by 1000FT Auto Callout
SLP 8.13.6.b
At 1000FT Auto callout the P1 response will be one of the following:
- “Unstable, Go Around”
- “Stable”
- “Speed”
(if call of “Speed” was made the subsequent call of “Stable” MUST occur BEFORE 500FT Auto callout)
SLP 8.13.6.b
Under what circumstances can a call “Speed” be made by P1 and APP continued at 1000FT Auto callout?
ONLY If crew failed to achieve the speed stability due to:
- Rapid wind changes;
- Turbulence;
- ATC IAS restrictions;
and
1- Speed is CLOSE to TARGET Vref
2- Speed is REDUCING
