Flat broad on top of forehead of skull
O: Tendon portion of back of skull
I: Skin + muscles of forehead
A: Raises eyebrows and wrinkles skin of forehead
Corrugator Supercilii (to wrinkle)
O: Frontal bone
I: Skin of eyebrows
A: Draws eyebrows together to frown
Orbicularis Oris
O: Muscles + skin around mouth
I: inserts into itself
A: Closes and protrudes the lips, kissing muscle
Depressor Anguli Oris
O: Body of mandible
I: Skin and muscles at angle of mouth
A: Allows frowning
Depressor Labii Inferioris
O: Body of mandible
I: Skin and muscles of lower lip
A: Pulls lower lip downward to pout
Mentalis
O: Mandible near synthesis
I: Skin of the chin
A: Protrudes and raises lower lip which wrinkle the skin
Platysma
O: The Fassa over the chest that spreads into pectoral muscles and deltoid
I: Lower border of mandible and skin of chin + cheek
A: Depresses the mandible, draws angle of mouth downward, wrinkle and tighten skin of neck
Occipitalis
O: Occipital bone
I: Galea Aponeurotica
A: Draws Scalp posteriorly, works in conjunction with frontalis
Procerus
O: Lower portion of nasal bone
I: Skin between eyebrows
A: wrinkles skin between eyebrows
Buccinator (cheek or trumpeter)
O: Moller region of mandible and maxillary bone
I: Obicularis Oris ans skin at angle of mouth
A: Compresses cheek to whistle, blow, suck/ pulls corner of mouth laterally. Will hold food between teeth during chewing.
Temporalis
O: Temporal bone
I: Corronoid process and reymus of mandible
A: Raises mandible closing the jaws and retracts the mandible
Masseter
Strongest muscle in body per square inch
O: Zygomatic arch
I: Angle in reymus in mandible
A: Raises mandible closing the jaws and pulls mandible forward
Medial Pterygoid
O: Medial surface of lateral pterygoid plate of the sphenoid bone
I: Inner surface of mandible at the angle
A: Closes the jaws grinding teeth
Lateral Pterygoid
O: Lateral surface of lateral pterygoid plate and great wing of sphenoid bone
I: Mandible just below condyle
A: Opens and protrudes mandible and moves it side to side
