Sternocleidomastoid
O: Mastoid Process
I: Sternal head, menubrium of sternum, clavicle head
A: Bylateraly the action of head and flexion of neck. Rotation of head and neck to opposite side.
Scalenus Anterior
O: Transverse process of cervical Vertebrae. Connected to C3, C4, C5, C6
I: Ribs. Connected to 1st rib.
A: Elevation of first rib
Scalenus Medius
O: Transverse process of cervical vertebrae. Connected to C2-C7
I: 1st rib
A: Lateral Flexion of neck, elevation if 1st rib
Scalenus Posterior
O: Transverse process of cervical Vertebrae. Connected to C4, C5, C6
I: Ribs. 1st, 2nd Rib
A: Lateral Flexion of neck, elevation of 2nd rib in foced inspiration
Suboccipital Muscles
O: C1, C2 Vertebrae
I: Occipital bone
A: Extension and rotation of head
Splenius Capitis
O: Ligamentum nuchae. C7, T1, T3 Vertebrae
I: Temporal bone at mastoid process, occipital bone
A: Bylateral extension of neck + head working unilaterally, rotation
of head ans neck to same side.
Splenius Cervicus
O: T3-T6 Vertebrae
I: C1-C3 Vertebrae
A: Rotation of head ans neck to same side.
Levator Scapulae
O: C1-C4 on transverse process
I: Vertebrae border of Scapulae from superior angle to root of spine
A: Elevation of shoulder
