what do Christians believe in the trinity
1) that Christianity is a monotheistic religion
2) that god has three different “forms” , as in 1, ( meaning god is 1 and has 3 different personalitiescharacters)
- the father: powerful creator of everything-“in the beginning, god created the heavens and the earth”, “ our father who art in heaven
- the son: Jesus Christ -“conceived in the womb by Mary” , showing that he is the god the son, “ the word became flesh”- took human form incarnation an will die for us “Father , forgive them”
- the holy spirit: to guide us , source of inspiration-“your body is the temple of the holy spirit”
quote for all 3 forms: “Baptise them in the name of the father , the son , the holy spirit”
different beliefs about creation
fundamental Christians-
1) believe that the bible is inerrant , meaning that every single word has come from god himself and its all true. Absolute word of God
2) they also believe that god made the world in “six 24 hours days” , further on to not believe anything what people think, meaning there is no interpretations. Also meaning that they reject scientific explanations from people such big bang
liberal Christians-
1) they believe that god created this world but not in “six 24 hours days”, since there was no proof in genesis 1 , how it happened, and therefore they deemed it as a myth.
2) they also believe that the bible is not a scientific book , and genesis was not to be taken seriously.
were the god the son , holy spirit present during creation
genesis 1 and gospel of john show that yes they were present , in genesis 1 “the spirit was hovering over the…waters”, and in gospel of john “ in the beginning was the word” , showing that both were present at the beginning of creation
what are ideas about heavens and hell
heaven:
1) some Christians belie that heaven is a physical place , or where some Christians believe that it is a spiritual state of being united with god for eternity
hell:
1) where unrepentant sinners go after death , if they are not accepted through salvation and forgiveness through Jesus . where it is a pain and suffering without god. some Christians believe that it is a physical place , some believe that there is no one there and nothing there-emptiness, some believe that you are in a spiritual state of being that you are separated from god.
what is judgement
judgment- is the place where you are judged whether u are going to hell or heaven
1) some Christians believe that God decides where your soul goes
2) some Christians believe that having faith in god ,will grant them to be a good Christian , so therefore to go heaven
what is resurrection
1) the resurrection of Jesus , celebrated on Easter Sunday , where comes back to life from the dead, which was deemed as a miracle.
2) in Christianity , is believed to be the time that death and sin is conquered, pays the price on crucifixion (conquers sin), resurrects (conquers death), this is believed to open the door for salvation for eternal life, this gives hope for life after death and faith in the son of god and that he is divine ( all powerful)
some Christians believe that there boy will be raised and it will be a physical resurrection, resurrection of the flesh , however others believe it is a spiritual resurrection
