Crescents in CGN consists of
Proliferation of parietal epithelial cells in the Bowman’s space
CGN with rare or absent findings on EM and IF
1) Pauciimune GN (Wegener disease and microscopic polyangiitis 2) Idiopathic crescentic GN
T/F Children with crescentic post-infectious GN can spontaneously recover
T
May be effective in preventing progressive renal failure in patients with SLE, HSP nephritis, Wegener granulomatosis, and IgA nephropathy if given early in the course when acute cellular crescents predominate
High-dose corticosteroids and cyclophosphamide
