A cutaneous vascular disorder that occurs around the central face in women 30-50 years old

How would you diagnose rosacea?
A
- Phymatous changes
- Persistent erythema

What are the major clinical features of rosacea?
A
- Persistent erythema
- Transient erythema
- Telangiectasisa
- Papules and pustules
- Ocular manifestations

What are the minor clinical features of rosacea?
A
- Stinging
- Burning
- Dry skin
- Itchy scaly skin
- Plaque
- Oedema

What is ocular rosacea?
A
When there is eyelid discomfort, irritation, tearing, foreign body sensation, itching, dryness, photophobia and blurred vision
Eye signs of lid margin telangiectasia
Suspected:
- blepharitis
- conjunctivitis
- keratitis
- anterior uveitis

How do you treat rosacea?
A
- Avoid triggers
- Sunscreen
- General skin care
- Topical ivermectin
- Topical brimonidine 0.5% gel
- Metronidazole 0.75% bd or azelaic acid 15% bd
- Oral doxycycline 40mg od
