Juliet feels like her mess of a situation is helpless
“Come weep with me, past hope, past cure, past help!”
Juliet tells the Friar that she would rater jump off the battlements of a tower than marry Paris
“O, bid me leap, rather than marry Paris,
From off the battlements of any tower,”
The Friar explains his plan to Juliet and says that when she takes the potion she will appear dead
“No warmth, no breath, shall testify thou livest.”
Juliet pretends to be apologetic to her father and says that she will do whatever he wishes from now on. She does all of this in order to make her plan work

Alone, Juliet wonders what will happen if the potion doesn’t work at all
