Agnus Dei (Lamb of God)

A

Prayer about God being the lamb. Links to the Jews’ escaping from Egypt. To avoid the angel of death Jews had to sacrifice a lamb and put its blood on the door. This symbolised a God redeeming our sins and Jesus being the lamb which is sacrificed to redeem our sins.

A

They treat the eucharist with reverence and respect as it is the Blessed Sacrament. They believe Jesus is present is the body and blood of Christ when it has been blessed. Praying in the presence of God on 2 knees to show respect.

Meaning ‘blessing’ ; a service at which the Blessed Sacrament is exposed and Catholics worship Christ in Sacrament. Name of the prayer service during the blessed Sacrament.
