Phillips and Bowling- since 70s police targeted African people using excessive force, black people are 7x more likely to be stopped and searched than their white counterpart.
What do New right thinkers think about the CJS?
Murray- state should play a key role in social control by reinforcing welfare benefits encouraging individuals to take more responsibility for welfare
What do Functionalists think about the CJS?
CJS reflects value consensus in society, ideas about crime change over time, proving them to be socially constructed.
