Q

what are the 4 things that can happen to a rock

A
  • It can be weathered/eroded and turned into sediment
-Heat and pressure can cause it to change into a different metamorphic rock
-It can be melted back into magma and then re-form an igneous rock
    compaction and cementation

Q

what is the mesosphere

A

lower mantle, solid, makes up 84% of the Earth’s volume
it is essentially the coldest layer, and is located third and in the middle, as ‘meso’ means middle.

Q

what is the difference of lithosphere and crust

A

The crust is the thin, outermost layer of the Earth that is composed differently than the mantle. The lithosphere is a thick layer that contains both the crust and the upper mantle
