Robotics Switches and Potentiometer Flashcards
Reacts to user interaction with the button or switch when it makes contact with the control panel beneath
Push Button/Tact Switch
Is a basic ON and OFF switch consisting of one input contact and one output contact
Single Pole Single Throw Switch (SPST)
Is a switch that has three terminals, one is input contact and the remaining two are output contacts
Single Pole Double Throw Switch (SPDT)
Is a dual on/off switch consisting of two ON positions. It has six terminals: two are input contacts and the remaining four are the output contacts
Double Pole Double Throw Switch (DPDT)
Is manually actuated (or pushed up or down) by a mechanical handle, lever or rocking mechanism. These are commonly used as light control switches
Toggle Switch
Are commonly used to control electrical devices such as volume controls on audio equipment.
Potentiometers
The most common of variable resistors or potentiometers
Rotary Potentiometer
Produce a resistance output that varies according to the displacement or position of a slider or wiper
Linear Potentiometer
