What story did Herbois and Fouce create which put pressure on Robespierre ?
Fabricated a story that Robespierre was under the influence of a woman called Catherine Theot. Theot was an eldery woman convinced she was destined to give birth to the next messiah. Fouche and Herbois tried to bring them to court, but Robespierre stoped them, Robespierre now knew his enemies were conspiring against them.

Robespierre had created his own religin and banned all other religions. However the religion was confusing, it lacked clear system of belief, and the religion added to the accusations that Robespierre had become a power-crazed dictator.

What was Robespire’s mistake that caused unrest within the convention, and later led to his arrest ?
On 26 Juy 1794, Robespierre appeared at the convention, he told the assembly that he knew the names of more traitors of the revlution, but refused to name them. By refusing to name them he made everyone in the convention feel vulnerable.
What happened the next day in the convention, after Robespierre claimed to know the names of traitors he did not name.
Desperate men including Collot and Fouche, fearingg for their lives, took the offensive. When Robespierre and Saint just tried to speak in the assembly their voices were drowned out by the cries of ‘Down with the tyrant’. This later led to the convention vote to arrest Robespierre and his collegues.
What happened at the Hotel de Ville to Robespierre ?
Individuals still loyal to Robespierre freed him after his arrest, and he escaped to the Hotel de Ville. It was soon stormed by the National Guard and Robespierre and his associates, the next day (28 July) were beheaded by the guillotine.
Who were the Thermidoreans and what did they do ?
Those who helped overthrow Robespierre were known as the Thermidoreans. Sought to end the terror and its remains, those who had a part in terror were killed or exiled. Thermidoreans eliminated the Law of Prarial, the jacobin club was closed down, restored freedom of worship and ended the cult off supreme being. Also they abolished the paris commune as they had active involvement in the insurrections of the sans culottes.
