what was the Committe of General Security
Essentially a police committe, 12 people responsible for overseeing the administration of revolutionary justice within paris.
what was the Revolutionary Tribunal ?
Tried suspects accused of counter-revolutionary activity. Form of normal court, with a jury present and the oppurtunity for the accussed to offer their defense, anyon efound guilty of crimes would be put to death.
What was the committe of Public safety ?
A body responsible for the war effort and to defend the revolution from enemies, both internal and external.
Who were respresentatives on mission and what did they do ?
Individuals deployed to the provinces, initially with mission of ensuring that conscription requirements for the army were being met.
What were the watch committees
Committee of 12 people who were given the responsibility of monitoring all foreign and suspicious individuals in the area. Individuals attracting to much attention could find themselves sent ot the revolutionary tribunal
What was the Law of 19 March 1793
Any rebels captured bearing arms or possesing royalist loyalty were condemend to death within 24 hours.
what was the Law of suspects ?
Law could order the arrest of all suspected enemies of the revolution. Law was vague, therefore not publically wearing the revolutionary cockade was enough to be arrested.
What was the Law of Frimaire (5 December 1793)
Aimed to increase the control of revolutionary government. Law placed representatives on mission under control of the committee and also forbade the existence of any revolutionary armies outside Paris.
