Who was Robert Koch?
A
A German doctor who studied Pasteur’s Germ Theory.

What did Koch discover?
A
That certain types of bacteria/microbes caused certain diseases.

How did Koch make his discovery?
A
- He dyed potato, petri dishes and dyed bacteria to recognise them to see them more easily.
- By doing this, he discovered the microbes that caused anthrax in sheep and microbes that caused TB and cholera.

How was the first magic bullet discovered?
A
- Robert Koch had his own research team who helped to develop his work further.
- Paul Ehrlich was part of this team and he discovered that certain dyes killed bacteria
- This led to the development of Salvarsan 606, which treated syphilis.
