S8 theft act 1968
defines robbery: D steals and immediately before or at the time of doing so, in order to do so, uses force on any person/seeks to put anyone in fear of being subject to force.

can be a continuing act, any forced use throughout, will count as “at the time of”

if D uses/threatens force at some point, he will be using force in order to steal.

taking something out of fingers/pockets is not force, it is only a theft
