What are the responsibilities of passengers in a car?

A
  1. Buckle up (before car starts)
  2. Children under 4 must use a car seat (must be properly installed and fit child properly)
  3. Kids under 13 must sit in the back so that they aren’t injured by the airbag
  4. Keep the doors locked
  5. Do not lean out of the window
  6. Do not distract the driver

What rules must be followed for safe walking?

A
  1. Stay out of the road, and walk on a pavement
  2. Where no pavements, walk facing oncoming traffic
  3. Only cross road at safe places: pedestrian crossing/ traffic lights etc
  4. When crossing : look LEFT + RIGHT + LEFT
  5. Walk FAST not RUN when crossing
  6. Under 7 do not cross road alone
  7. Kids should be taken to school by responsible adult
  8. When walking along road, wear reflective armband

  1. A bicycle is a vehicle, and must obey road signs
  2. Traffic lights apply to cyclists
  3. Cycling lanes must be used if available
  4. Footpaths are for pedestrians NOT cyclists

  6. Check LIGHTS , BREAKS, TYRES, REFLECTORS in good condition
  7. Be HIGHLY visible – REFLECTIVE gear
