What is a habit
Something that you do regularly, and perhaps automatically
What characteristics do you need to have to develop good homework habits?
Be well-prepared and organised
What rules should you follow every day?
- Write down all your homework neatly (Fill in when each assignment is due)
- Do all your written homework first
- Check your written homework (especially the instructions)
- Get your homework diary signed
- Read through work done that day
- Start preparing for the Friday test
- Do work on projects or orals
- Do some enrichment or revision
- After finishing homework, get ready for the next day. Pack your bag the night before with all you need for the next day
Why should you read through work done that day?
- More familiar and less revision needed for tests
2. You can check that you understood it, and ask the teacher for help if you didn’t.
Why should you start preparing for the Friday test at the beginning of the week?
It helps reduce the stress on Thursday, as well as giving you time to make sure you understand everything
Where should you study?
At a table or desk with enough light (not on the floor).
A good chair is important.
What should your homework space looks like?
- As little clutter and noise as possible

You might not have enough time to get it all done, or do it very poorly
