War
Fighting between nations to resolve issues between them
Peace
an absence of conflict, which leads to happiness and harmoney
Justice
Bringing about what is right and fair, according to the law or making up for a wrong that has been commited
forgiveness
Showing grace and mercy and pardoning someone for what they have done
Reconciliation
A sacrement in the Catholic Church, also when induviduals or groups restore friendly relationships
Protest
An expression of disaproval, often in a public group
Violence
Using actions that threaten or harm others
Terrorism
the unlawful use of violence, to achieve a political goal
Greed
Selfish desire for something
Self-defence
acting to prevent harm to yourself and others
Retalitation
deliberatly harming someone as a response to harming them
Nuclear Weapons
Weapons that workk by a nuclear reaction, they devistate huge areas
Weapons of Mass Dustruction
Weapons that can devastate large areas people and/or cause great damage
Chemical Weapons
Weapons that use chemical to poison, burn or paralyise humans
Biological Weapons
Weapons that have living organism or infective material that can lead to diseases or death
mutually assured destruction
Mutual assured destruction is a military in which a use of nuclear weapons by two or more opposing sides would cause the complete annihilation of both the attacker and the defender.
Just war
A war which meets internationally accepted criteria for fairness, follows traditional Christain rules - accepted by many other religions
Holy War
Fighting for a religous cause or God
Pacifism
the beleief of people who refuse to take part in war and any other form of violence
Peacemanking
The action of trying to establish peace
