The event that happened 40 days after the Resurrection where Jesus Returned to God, the Father, in heaven - recorded in Luke 24
Atonement
Litterly ‘at-one-ment’, it refers to the reconcilliation between Jesus and God and humanity that was sealed by the crusifixtion
Bible
The sacred book for Christians
Catholic
The tradition within the Christian Church which is led by the pope
Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD)
A christian charity that provides emergancy and long term aid to the developing world
Christ
The leader promised by God to the Jews. The word litterly means “Anoited one” in Greek. Christian believes Jesus to be the christ
Christain
Someone who believes in Jesus Christ and follows the religion based on his teachings
Church
- The holy people of God, also called the Body of Christ
- -Members of a particular Christian denomination/ tradition
- a building in which christians worship
Creation
Christains believe that the world is God’s creation
Crucifxion
- roman method of execution
- The exucution of Jesus on Good Friday
Easter
The religious season celebrating the resurection of Jesus from the dead. It starts on Easter day and finishes with the feast of Pentecost
Eucharist
Literlly ‘tanksgiving’. Another name for holy communion
Evangulism
Preaching the gospel of good news about god. This is as they try to convert people to christainity
Evil
The opposite of good. A force that is seen in many traditions as destuctive and against God

One of the three personas of God - thought to be the creator

the third persona of good - thought to be able to influance Christians around the world. Decended as the dove in Jesus’ batism

Litterly ‘flesh’ - God taking form in a human body (Jesus)
Jesus
The incarnation of God. The 1st Jewish teacher and holy man
Judgement
When God decides to wheather each person should recieve eteral life
Just
This refers to the nature of God as one who treats each induvidual human fairly
Law
This refers to the law of god, revealed in the bible, which christains are called to obey. St Paul made it clear, however that salvation is not erned by obediance to the law but it’s god gift
