A

After Hyperinflation/Ruhr, there was increased support for extremist parties
- many politicians in Munich were against Weimar so didn’t try to stop the Putsch
- Hitler invades a Beer Hall meeting and declares he is taking over
- he holds some members of govt to gunpoint demanding support
- Nazi’s rob a bank to pay 2000 supporters
-1000 SA members + 2000 supporters marched the streets to declare Hitler as the leader

- it was the party’s new manifesto (very anti-Semitic)
- unite all german people = volksgemeinschaft (people’s community, strongest race dominate)

Hitler released from jail in 1924
These years were the reorganisation of the party
SS = Hitler’s personal bodyguards (very loyal) (used for intimidation) (higher status than⬇️)
SA = exsoldiers, army (semi-independent from Hitler and eventually seen a threat)

Party members grew to 100,000 by 1928
But they only had 12 seats as it was the golden age so no-one voted for extremism

Economy collapsed and the US loans stopped coming
Just before he died, Stresemen said Germany was “dancing on a volcano”
Hunger Chancellor: Bruning
- reduced benefits
- extreme shortage of food
- struggling to pass anything so enforced article 48 and resigned
People began to look towards extremism and democracy collapsed 😢
