Why are prophets needed

A

God is infinite and we are finite

They bridge the epistemic distance between us

Who are other prophets?

A

Adam- first prophet after the Fall (which was planned by god) a model of perfection

Nuh (Noah)- restarted human race

Ibrahim (Abraham)- brought the sahifa (scrolls), the first muslim, 2 sons Ishmail and Ishaq who became prophets of the Arabs and Jews respectively, he founded Mecca

Musa (Moses)- brought the Torah, freed Israelites from slavery in Egypt

Dawud (David)- brought the zabur (psalms), king of Israel

Isa (Jesus)- brought injil (gospel), one of the most important prophets, teachings and miracles accredited in the Quran

A

Look at the person who tells you the saying, if they live like muhammed you can trust it

A

Al Amin- the trustworthy one
He’s an honest, good trader
Cared about women
Married an independent woman who was successful in her own right
Practised monogamy whilst with khadija
Good negotiator, united Arabia
He cut prayers short so a woman could return to a crying baby
Worked hard digging the trench in the battle of the trench
Never swore
Didn’t value wealth
