What are reticular fibres composed of?
Type 3 collagen secreted by reticular cells. Thus, reticular fibres may sometimes be called collagenous fibres.
Which cells are supported by a network of reticulin fibres?
Soft tissues such as the liver, bone marrow and lymphatic system organs.

Reticulin stain (silver)
What type of cells are in the liver that are surrounded by the reticular fibres?
Hepatocytes
What is a sinusoid in a liver cell?
Serves as a location for mixing of the oxygen-rich blood from the hepatic artery from the aorta and the nutrient-rich blood from the portal vein.
What is the portal vein?
Carries blood from the GI tract and spleen to the liver.
