A

  • Continuous, double sac covering each lung.
  • A serous membrane composed of an epithelial layer overlying areolar tissue.
  • Portion attached to chest wall is the Parietal Pleura.
  • Portion attached to lung surface is Visceral Pleura.
  • Between two layers is pleural space containing a thin film of fluid that lubricates membranes.
