why is aerobic respiration the most efficient way to release energy from glucose

A

as it produces lots of ATP

8
Q

why is anaerobic respiration less effective than aerobic respiration

A

as the glucose is only partially broken down which limits the number of ATP molecules prouduced

10
Q

how does lactic acid occur

A

when your body cant supply enough oxygen to your muscles during vigorous exercise therefore resorting to anaerobic respiration. this leads to oxygen debt as you need extra oxygen to break down the lactic acid to start aerobic respiration
