Research methods Flashcards
What types for experiments you can conduct
3
Laboratory - a research method by which researchers create controllable environments to test hypothesis
Field - carried outside of laboratory in a neutral setting
Natural - a situation that allows for the random or seemingly random assignment of study subjects to different groups is exploited to answer a particular question
Who do you get to do your study?
If the study is going to show you anything about reality you need to show that the people used in the study are a good representative of the global population.
What do you need to worry about when conducting experiments
When conducting an experiment on anyone or anything you have to make sure that all the experiments are ethical, and that if anyone is to participate they need to consent and have the right to withdraw at any point. The participants also need to be protected from harm and everything that goes on in the experiment is confidential
