- 2 groups → 1 drinks water the other coffee
- hold ruler between their fingers so they’re at 0cm
- without warning drop the ruler
- participant catches by squeezing fingers
- do 3 times for mean
- calculate mean reaction time for each group
- square root mean drop distance and divide by 490

plant horomones and responses

- sut hole in cardboard box to allow light in
- two petri dishes lined with cotton wool
- scatter some cress seeds on both sets
- wet wools with a pipette
- one petri dish inside the box, one on top
- water regularly for one week
- remove and record observations

distribution and abundance
A
- find total area of habitat being measured
- carefully place 0.25m2 quadrat randomly in habitat and record daisy distribution
- multiple times in random places
- multiply avg number of daisies in quadrat by number of quadrats that fit in the area

rates of decomposition
A
- 6 test tubes, 5cm3 full fat milk
- another 6 and fill with 3cm3 lipase
- 5 drops of phenolphthalein to milk and then 7cm3 of sodium carbonate solution (alkali) → turns pink
- put the milk and lipase solutions in a shared waterbath (different temperatures of waterbaths)
- once they are the same temp mix together and time for change from pink to clear
