What is fertilisation?
Fertilisation is the moment when a sperm and egg join together, and the genes from the mother and father combine to form a new life.

What are the factors that can lower a man’s sperm count?
Smoking, not exercising, drinking and his underwear choice (too tight) can lower his sperm count.
What do the testes do?
They make sperm and testosterone.
What does the scrotum do and why does it hang outside a mans body?
They hold the testes. They hang outside the body as it is cooler for the sperm. The body temperature would kill the sperm.
What is the epididymis?
It is where the sperm are stored once they are created by the testes.
What is the function of the vas deferens (sperm tube)?
It transports the sperm during ejaculation. It is during this journey that the sperm is mixed with fluid from the prostate gland and seminal vesicle.
What is the function of the prostate gland and seminal vesicle?
To add fluid to the sperm to create semen.
What is the function of the urethra in REPRODUCTION.
It transports the semen from the body during ejaculation.
What is the function of the penis in reproduction?
To enter the vagina during sex to allow ejaculation.
What is the function of the foreskin?
It covers the penis and protects the tip of the penis.
What is the function of the ovaries in reproduction?
It is where the eggs are made and female hormones are produced.
What is the function of the funnel in reproduction?
It catches the egg when it is released from the ovary.
What is the function of the fallopian tubes in reproduction?
It is the passageway for the egg. It takes eggs from the ovary to the uterus. It is also where fertilisation takes place.
