what should you tell your patient at try in stage in regards to the fit?

A

it is in wax so will feel bulky
the clasps wont engage so will feel loose
the colour of the wax is more pink than the acrylic

why must you work quickly at the try in stage/ not leave the denture in the mouth for too long?

A

the heat of the patients mouth may soften the wax which can distort it/ teeth may fall out

underextended - review cast, if it is extended fully then draw on it where you want the extension, if the cast is not extended you need a new imp and re try

overextended - trim the wax chairside

A

if the adaptation is poor in the mouth but well to the cast, there is a fault in the casting/ impression - take a new imp for recast and new waxing for re try

A

Add wax to the teeth and re record the occlusion
send to lab to rearticulate and re set the teeth at the new occlusion

A

Remove occluding teeth that are holding the vertical dimension
Add wax to create a record block
establish the correct OVD
re record the occlusion
send to lab for teeth to be re set and a re try
