  • Jesus taught that divorce is wrong and that marriage is for life.
  • The couple made a covenant with God in the sacrament of marriage which cannot be broken by any earthly power.

  • The marriage was never consummated (the couple didn’t have sex)
  • The marriage was not a true Christian marriage because one of the partners was not baptised
