Reentrant Junctional Tachycardia Flashcards
In what demographic is Reentrant Junctional Tachy?
Young, healthy people who consume Caffeine, or anxiety
AV Junction
What differentiates orthodromic vs Antidromic cond?
Ortho: Straight down to the ventricle with no branches
Anti: Goes the opposite Direction. Branches off. ***
What differentiat types of AV Junctional Tachycardia?
SLow- fast AV node tachy
Fast- Slow AV node tachy
What differentiat types of AV Junctional Tachycardia?
Orthodromic AV bypass Tachy
Antidromic AV bypass Tachy
What are characteristics of Reentrant Junctional Tachy?
Narrow QRS(no pre-exitation), No P waves
When are delta waves seen?
Atrial Premature in Reentrant Junctional Tachy
When can the diving reflex be used to convert out of dysrhythmia?
SVT
What maneuver can be done to slow down tachycardia to the pooint that you can see the P waves?
Carotid sinus massage.
What is the purpose of doing a carotid sinus massage?
Slows down the heart rate enough to see attributes of the ECG.
What is the status of the P waves in SVT?
Usually absent but can follow or precede QRS.
What is the valsalva maneuver?
Bear down to increase Vagal tone and keep from passing out
What is the danger of doing a carotid massage?
Dont do both at the same time.
