STIs - who is low-average risk and what is recommended?
Heterosexual ASx <30yo
If requesting STI check, recommend FPU (first 20mL at least 20 mins since last void) or cervical/genital swab for CHLAMYDIA PCR
STI guidelines recommend
Chlamydia and gonorrhoea FPU or swab for NAAT + HIV Ag/Ab, syphilis serology
STIs - Who is medium-high risk and what is recommended?
<20yo or rural/remote
Chlamydia +/- gonorrhoea and syphilis
STI guidelines suggest 6 monthly and inc. BV + trichomoniasis
STIs - ATSI are higher risk - what is recommended?
Chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis, HIV and Hep A+B if not vaccinated/immune (+ offer vaccination) - annually
STI guidelines suggest chlamydia/gonorrhoea/trichomoniasis FPU or swab (consider self-collect) and syphilis/ HIV/Hep B bloods
STIs - Who is at highest risk and what is recommended?
IVDU, sex workers and MSM
STI guidelines suggest chlamydia/gonorrhoea and HIV/syphilis/Hep A+B+C
Offer HepA+B vaccination if not immune
What additional STI testing considerations apply to men who have sex with men?
Chlamydia and gonorrhoea testing should include oropharyngeal and anorectal swabs in addition to FPU
Testing is recommended every 3 months
