Emergency Contraception Options
Levonorgestral 1.5mg stat within 72-96hrs
Ulipristal Acetate 30mg po 5 days (Cant use hormonal methods of contraception for 5 days after)
Copper IUD insertion within 5 days
Antibiotics for meningococcal disease
ceftriaxone 2 g (child 1 month or older: 50 mg/kg) IV or IM
OR
benzylpenicillin 2.4 g (or 60 mg/kg) IV or IM
Dose + route of adrenaline in paediatric anaphylaxis (mg)
0.01mg/kg of 1:1000 IM
Dose + route of adrenaline in paediatric anaphylaxis (mL)
0.01mL/kg of 1:1000 IM
Acute anaphylaxis management
Call for help
Lay flat
Administer adrenaline, repeat every 5min as needed
Arrange transfer
Monitor vital signs
IV access
Oxygen if needed
Consider steroids, antihistamines, salbutamol
Acute drug management of suspected cardiac CP
Aspirin 300mg orally
GTN spray 400-800microg subling Q5min OR GTN tab 300-600microg Q5min
Repeated up to 3 doses if pain persists
Analgesia eg fentanyl
Acute management of severe croup
Nebulised adrenaline 5mL of 1:1000
AND
Dexamethasone 0.6mg/kg IM/IV/PO
