process of searching for new employees and trying to get them to apply for jobs

screening of the candidates that applied so that the most suitable person for the job can be chosen
what is the job description?
a document that describes the duties a worker is required to carry out

when a vacancy is filled with someone who already works in the organisation
what is external recruitment?
when the organisation fills a vacancy with someone from outside of the organisation
what are the benefits of internal recruitment?

what is a cover letter?
a letter written by the applicant explaining why they believe they are suitable for the job

good way of ensuring that the candidate is good for the job. Up to date and taking the time to fill one in shows commitment
what is an interview for selection?
applicant meets people from the business for a face to face discussion. asked questions.
how do interviews help identify the best candidate?
-amount of effort (research conducted and presented)

-can physically see if candidate displays certain characteristics or skills they claim to have
