p. 96.1 Atrīdae longō post tempore Īlium cēpērunt.
The sons of Atreus [Agamemnon and Menelaus] after a long time took Ilium [Troy].
p. 96.2 decimō enim annō urbem Trōiam tandem expugnāuērunt.
For in the tenth year they finally stormed the city (of) Troy.
p. 96.3 nam illō tempore rēgēs in urbem equum mīsērunt ligneum.
For at that time the kings sent into the city a horse (that was) wooden.
p. 96.4 Epēus, uir sapientiā magnā, equum illum aedificāuit.
Epeus, a man of great wisdom, built that horse
p. 96.5 mīlitēs in equō fuērunt armātī, summā audāciā uirī.
The soldiers in the horse were armed, men of the highest boldness.
p. 96.6 hī ex equō illā exiērunt nocte et urbem mox dēlēuērunt.
These (men) came out of that horse at night and soon destroyed the city.
p. 96.7 sīc illō diē Trōia urbs ūnā periit hōrā.
In this way, on that day, the city of Troy [literally “the Trojan city”] perished in one hour.
