What are the six articles of faith?
Tawhid - belief in the oneness of Allah. This is seen in the Shahadah.
Malaikah - Angels - Send messages to prophets e.g. Night of Power.
Kutub - The holy books - should be respected, especially Qur’an as it is the direct word of God. ‘This is the Book about which there is no doubt.’ -Qur’an
Nubuwwah/Risalah - The prophets - should be respected, especially Muhammad as he is the last. 25 prophets altogether and Isa (Jesus) is one of them. ‘We have sent to every nation a messenger.’ -Qur’an
Yawm al Qiyamah - Day of Judgement - all Muslims will be judged and sent to either Jannah (heaven) or Jahannam (hell)
Al-Qadr- presdestination. ‘‘Only what God has decreed will happen’’ - Qur’an
What are angels said to do?
Angels record all deeds
Protect believers from evil - ‘The work of Shaytan … cannot harm believers.’
Act as messengers to Prophets e.g. Angel Jibril with Muhammed

If not, they are tormented by angels till day of judgement/resurrection

‘Their refuge is the fire.’ - Qur’an. This place is so horrible that fire is the least bad place there.
Does intention matter to Allah?
‘Every man will be rewarded for what they intended.’ - Q
What quote from the Qur’an supports the Shi’a view of free will?
‘Allah does not change the conditions of a people.’ - Qur’an
What do Shi’a muslims say is contradictory about the Day of Judgement?
That there wouldn’t be any point in judging people if there is no free will and they didn’t decide their own actions.

What is Salah?
Prayer
Compulsory
Muslims pray towards Mecca 5 times a day
Either individually or at mosque
What is Zakat?
2.5% of wealth after what is necessary to provide for themselves
It is said to ‘purify wealth’
Counts as a good deed
Money used to help poor and needy (e.g. Muslim aid)

A minimum amount of a money a person must have to give Zakat

Fasting during Ramadan
Done to appreciate what Muslims have
