Q

What did God promise Abraham in the covenant?

A

The convent was a promise/agreement made between god and Abraham that God would provide Canaan for Abraham’s descendants and that we would gave a big family which would have a special relationship with god.

As part of the covenant God promised Abraham…

  2. Family (a huge family, lots of descendants)
  3. Care (all of Abraham’s descendants would have a special relationship with God)

Q

Was the sacrifice of Issac a fair test from God?

A

Your opinion…

Yes - God wanted to show Abraham that he must be fully devoted to him if he wanted to have a covenant, it was a fair test that showed loyalty and strength

But…

It was unfair for God to have waited so long before they intervened, Abraham was just about to kill Issac. The whole situation for the both of them.

God should have intervened earlier

God should have never needed to before the test if they are omniscient, he would have already been aware of Abraham’s loyalty.
