Single Word Comprehension
Point to the word goes with the picture
Foils:
1) Visual (e.g. “bus” bun & sub)
2) phonological (e.g. “sky” pie & buy)
3) Semantic (“hose nuzzle & water)
Functional Reading
Client is shown phrases/passages contained in ads, shopping lists, medicine labels, newspaper headlines, calendars, etc.
Client has to read phrases & passages & answer function questions about them
Client has to read the specific instruction for each picture, examine the picture, and point to the answer
“read this sentence & point to the right answer”

Short Paragraph Comprehension
3 pictures/items shown with a short paragraph (2-3 sentences) underneath and you have to point to the correct picture
“some people save money by using utensils that do not use electricity. point to the picture that is the cheapest to use. (choices are pictures of spoon, blender, toaster)
Paragraph Comprehension: Factual & Inferential Comprehension
Readabiltiy manipulated, factual & inferential questions
“read the paragraph to yourself. then read each sentence and point to the best answer”
Some questions you can answer using word knowledge so be a critical examiner!!!!
