Sowing timetable
Radish
Radishes can be grown successionally to provide year round crop; sow every few weeks for continuous crop.
Very early radishes can be sown indoors before planting out.
Summer radishes sown in situ in early spring.
Winter radishes should be sown mid to late summer.

Sow at depth of 1cm in rows or blocks. Thin summer radishes to 2.5cm apart and winter radishes to 15cm apart once crops are established.

Water regularly but do not overwater which causes too much leafy growth.

Summer crops - can be as little as one month.
Harvesting

Harvest promptly - prone to bolting and becoming woody.
Winter radishes can be harvested from Autumn until the following spring.
Seed pods are edible - roots left in ground overwinter will produce flowering stems and juicy seed stems.
Storage.

Winter radishes can be left in ground over winter; may need protection from hard frosts.
Radishes can be stored in boxes packed with damp sand.

Flea beetles create ragged leaf holes.
Place fine netting around plants.
